Leak detection in Metro Heights
Metro Heights is a newer master-planned community in the Montebello Hills with single-family homes, townhomes and condominiums. Newer construction can still leak — and it can also be perfectly sound. The process is the same: find the source first.
Newer homes are not leak-proof — or suspect
A recent build does not rule out a leak, and it doesn't make one more likely either. Fittings, appliance connections and irrigation can fail in any home. Treat symptoms on their merits rather than assuming either way.
Check warranty and HOA paths first
If your home is still within a builder warranty period, review its terms before arranging any opening of walls or floors — some warranties set out who must be contacted first. Your HOA or management company may also have rules for shared walls, attached units and common landscaping.
Making those calls early doesn't delay urgent action: if water is actively leaking or near electricity, deal with safety first.
Attached homes and condos
In townhomes and condos, water can move between units. Note which unit and floor you are on and whether neighbors have seen anything. Responsibility depends on governing documents, not on where the stain appears.
