Check your water supplier
Montebello is served by more than one water supplier depending on location. Montebello Land & Water Company (mtblw.com) and San Gabriel Valley Water Company (sgvwater.com) are two of them. State regulators have published maps showing several suppliers, but those boundaries are dated and aren't an address lookup.
Your water bill names your supplier. Ask them where their responsibility for the meter and service line ends — this matters most for underground leaks.
City planning areas
The City's approved plans include Downtown Montebello and the Montebello Hills, where the Metro Heights community sits. The Washington Boulevard specific plan covers a largely commercial and logistics corridor; homes on nearby streets are welcome to ask about coverage.
Preparing for a visit
- 1Know where your meter and main shut-off are, if you can find them safely.
- 2Clear access to the area of concern, the water heater and nearby cabinets.
- 3Note when irrigation runs and be ready to switch it off at the controller.
- 4Renters and association members: involve the landlord, HOA or manager early.
- 5Have recent bills showing water usage.
